Baltimore Mitigation Training Registration Form
The 2022 Baltimore Mitigation Training will be held at the
University of Baltimore School of Law
June 2 - 4. The training will be centered around exploring what it means to dismantle dehumanization, why it’s important both within and beyond mitigation work, and how we can increase intentionality around how to dismantle systemic practices and policies that currently uphold dehumanization within the legal system.
The keynote speaker will be Craig Haney, Ph.D., social psychologist noted for his work on the psychological impact of capital punishment, imprisonment, and prison isolation.
Workshops and panels will be led by renowned experts in direct mitigation, activism, mental health, immigration law, trauma, victim experiences and other areas. A detailed training agenda is available
here
.
Mitigation investigation is a powerful tool for those seeking to disrupt the dehumanizing narratives often seen in the criminal justice system. This multi-day training will be provided free of charge to ensure that participants--regardless of financial restrictions--have access to the key skills and techniques needed to conduct a mitigation investigation effectively. Each workshop and panel will be led by nationally recognized faculty.
ARC, Inc. provides this training at no cost to attendees in order to remove as many barriers to high-quality mitigation training as possible.
