Join us for our annual Steps Towards Justice Walk-a-thon! Sign up to join us or you can donate to support our participants.
Our staff spend countless hours meeting with clients, interviewing members of their community, collecting records, and much more so that we can share the true, accurate life history with the judges, juries, and prosecutors that decide their sentences. Every step in that process moves us toward more humane sentences. This takes time and resources, and much of it is not fully funded by criminal courts. We depend on our supporters who walk with us to make our work possible. Join our community of supporters during our annual Steps Towards Justice Walk-a-Thon. During the weekend of May 20th, participants will walk, roll, or stroll at the location of their choice to support ARC’s work. Invite your friends and family to walk with you and/or make a donation for every half mile you move. Sign up to participate or pledge, and join our movement toward justice. Every step towards justice counts! It’s easy to participate. Here’s how it works: Participants 1. Complete the registration form below. You can choose to join a group, start a new group in your area, or do your own thing. Right now we have teams in Baltimore, Jacksonville, Washington DC, and a DIY team for everyone who is doing their own thing. 2. Check your email! Once we have your registration, we'll email you with directions on how to join the team you've selected through our donation page. 3. Walk, hike, run, bike, stroll, or roll on May 20 or 21 and count your steps or miles (or whatever measurement you choose). Supporters If walking isn't really your style, you can still cheer on participants by pledging on our Walk-a-Thon campaign page and spreading the word.
